Stand so that you are not directly under the awning so you re protected if it. If necessary ask a contractor to recommend the best way to remove an awning. You ll need a step ladder a power driver a pry bar eye protection and leather gloves. Patch the holes where lag bolts were removed.

One option is to rent a cherry picker. Use a putty knife and wire brush to remove dried caulking from the wall. We spray off the tops brackets and conclude with the underside of the metal sheets. Prepare a solution of 1 part bleach to 3 parts water in a bucket.
